About Company

Bytomski Zakład Usług Górniczych Sp. z o.o. [Bytom Mining Services] was established in 1996 during restructuring of Bytomska Spółka Węglowa [Bytom Coal Company].

Since its inception BZUG has been providing mining services for hard coal mines. For more than twenty years of its existence, the Company has established itself as a reliable contractor in the market which has been certified by Certificate of Integrated Quality Management System, Certificate of Integrated Environmental Management System, OHS.

Currently, BZUG provides services for mines belonging to PGG, JSW and Węglokoks Kraj. As a result of ownership transformations since 2011 the company is 100% private and its owners are individuals.

The company’s management:

Chairman of the Board M.Sc. Piotr Achtelik

Experienced manager, with many years of senior management positions. Graduate of the Silesian University of Technology – Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science and a number of post-graduate studies. He gained his professional experience at KWK Pstrowski, where he crossed the road from trainee to energy mechanic. He has been associated with Bytom Mining Services since the very beginning of its existence, and holds the position of Chairman of the Board – Chief Executive Officer.

Vice President of the Board M.Sc. Aleksander Hawel

Experienced manager, for many years responsible for the financial area. He graduated from the University of Economics in Katowice as well as Executive MBA studies and Academy of Leadership Psychology at Warsaw University of Technology Business School. For several years he worked in managerial positions in the capital group PGNiG SA, where he participated in several restructuring processes. He has been associated with Bytom Mining Services since 2011, initially as a member of the Company’s Supervisory Board, and since 2015 as the Vice President of the Board – Director of Economics and Commerce.
